Downtown School Scholastic Chess Club

We are planning to continue the Downtown School Chess Club in 2002. Your support is necessary for the club to succeed. You don't need to know how to play chess in order to help! I'm taking a survey of those interested, please fill out the form below.

The dsscs is meets every Wednesday after school for one to one and a half hours. About 50% of the time will be spent on lessons/instruction and the balance will be playing time. The goal is to have fun and develop cognitive skills. Tournaments will be scheduled in the Fall and Spring for those who want to particape.

Although membership in the United States Chess Federation is not necessary for unrated tournaments, it is required for rated tournaments. Contact USCF.ORG for membership information.

FSSCA Tournament: May 11th K-3, K-5, K-8, K-12 - Details to follow!
